- Expression of Interest are invited for Provision of Consultancy Services to Conduct a Scoping Study - Gabon for the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF). The Rationale of this Study is to Undertake an Assessment that will Provide a Bird-S Eye View of the Agricultural Sector in Gabon by Critically Analyzing the Key Agricultural Value Chains in the Country to Establish the Critical Legal, Political, and Socio-Economic Factors that Explain the Challenges Faced by Women and Youths. The Study will Generate Information on Needs, Constraints and Opportunities of Women and Youth in the Country as Evidence-Based Data to Develop a Capacity Building Strategy and Implementation Plan for the Project. The Output of this Study should be Central in Providing Evidence on Women and Youth Challenges in the Agricultural Sector, Specifically the Skills Gaps, Institutional Challenges and Required Policy Actions to Address the Capacity Challenges Established. 3. Scope of Work Specifically, the Scoping Study will Involve the following: 1. Assessment of the Agricultural Value Chain in the Country, Highlighting the Status of Women and Youth Participation, Paying Particular Attention to Capacity Gaps in the Sector. i. Mapping of Key Organizations Playing a Critical Role in Promoting Women Farmers and have the Potential to Better Support Women and Youth Agricultural Productivity if Given the Necessary Support. ii. Identify the Capacity Issues Faced by Women and Youth Organizations in the Different Stages of the Agricultural Value Chain in the Country. 2. Identification of Specific Policies and Incentives in Place for the Empowerment of Women and Youth in Agriculture, or Lack Thereof, in the Country. i. Assessment of the Status and Role of Women and Young People in Agriculture, and the Potential Role that Capacity Building could Play in Their Future and the Factors that Determine this. ii. Propose some Policy Options on How to Better Integrate Women and Youth in the Agricultural Value Chain. Submissions are to reach ACBF on or before Friday, 9 September 2022.
