INVITATION TO TENDER GREEN HOUSE TECHNOLOGY Our Reference: ZWE1109-09 HARARE, ZIMBABWE, 10 MARCH 2020 Introduction Welthungerhilfe was established in 1962. Under the 11th European Development Fund, the European Union and the Government of Zimbabwe (GoZ) formulated the Zimbabwe Agricultural Growth Programme (ZAGP) Under this ZAGP, we have the IPVC led by COSPE, supported by the following consortium partners: Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA), Livestock and Meat Advisory Council (LMAC), Sustainable Agriculture Trust (SAT) and Welthungerhilfe (WHH). IPVC is calling for tenders for the implementation of a green technology study that was carried out along the poultry value chain .The innovative green technologies are focused on improving the environmental performance of the poultry value chain for improved efficiency and centred around climate control of the poultry house and sustainable cold chain management of chicken and egg production, biogas systems, solar energy and other renewable energy heating system as alternative to the current inefficient systems . Lot 1 : Biogas system Quantity Description Specifications 5 Tubular biogas plant system Design a tubular biogas system using locally available material. The biogas digester should provide enough gas to heat and light a 50 square meter poultry house. i.e. 500 birds. The biogas system will be designed on site in Gweru, Mutare, Harare Masvingo and Bulawayo supply and install the system on the allocated site and provide training and backup maintenance for the system 1 Tubular biogas system for abattoir Design, supply and install a tubular biogas system using locally available material. The biogas digester should provide enough gas to heat and light a poultry slaughter facility. Location of the abattoir will be advised provide training on system use and management and backup technical maintenance of the system 3 Fixed doom biogas systems Design, supply and install an Onsight fixed doom biogas system suitable for 3000 birds using locally available resources. This system will be installed in Harare, Masvingo and Mutare 2 Fixed doom biogas systems Design, supply and fit a doom biogas system for 10,000 birds in Gweru and Bulawayo 1 Fixed doom biogas systems Design, supply and fit a doom biogas system for a poultry slaughterhouse using locally available material: location will be advised 21 Floating biogas system Design, supply and fit floating biogas system using locally available materials for birds heating and lighting up to 500 birds and a slaughter facility. The systems should be easily constructed and low maintenance. Provide training on management and use of the system and provide backup technical services after installation: system will be installed in Harare, Mutare, Bulawayo, Gweru and Masvingo Notes on Lot 1: Biogas plants will be designed with the supervision of IPVC consultants and preferably contracted with locally available material at the lowest cost possible. Rocket stoves should be as environmentally friendly as possible i.e. maximizing heat production from minimal fuel material. The use of renewable fuel product is recommended to be installed in Masvingo, Gweru and Bulawayo 30 Rocket stoves Design, fabricate, and supply rocket stoves with capacity to heat a poultry house with capacity for 500 birds. Rocket stoves must be designed from locally available low-cost material and require little maintenance. Rocket stoves should be as environmentally friendly as possible i.e. maximizing heat production from minimal fuel material.
