Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Consultancy to Develop Draft Regulations. The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) is an Intergovernmental Organization created in 1976 by the Lusaka Agreement concluded under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Membership of the Organization is open to all States members of the African Union (AU). The current members of the Organization are: Botswana, Kingdom of Eswatini, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Kingdom of Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. (Total: 21 States) ARIPO recently adopted the Kampala Protocol on Voluntary Registration of Copyright and Related Rights at a Diplomatic Conference that was held in Kampala, Uganda from 27 to 28 August 2021. ARIPO seeks to engage the services of a Consultant (this can be a company or individual) to develop Draft Regulations for the implementation of the Kampala Protocol. The Consultant should be a legal draftsman with at least 10 years of experience as a draftsman, have a minimum of Bachelor of Laws degree, Postgraduate diploma in Law, knowledge of Intellectual Property, experience in research, analytical and drafting skills. Interested Consultants are invited to obtain the Terms of Reference (ToR) from the ARIPO Secretariat by contacting the Secretariat at mail@aripo.org. Deadline: Submissions of proposals must be received on or before 31st January 2022 at 16:00hrs Harare time. No late submissions will be accepted.
