• Description:
• Tenders are invited for Developing an Integrated Urban Water Management Masterplan for Marondera Municipality. The Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe received a grant from the African Water Facility; a special fund administered by the African Development Bank, to finance the "Development of an Integrated Urban Water Management Masterplan for Marondera Municipality” 2. The overall project goal is to provide the Municipality of Marondera, Zimbabwe with an innovative and integrated approach that will ensure the sustainable management of water and sanitation services for Marondera\'s population. The project will specifically address some of Marondera\'s immediate Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) needs, the development of an Integrated Urban Water Management Master Plan for the Municipality and enhance the capacity of the Government of Zimbabwe and key stakeholders implement sustainable water and sanitation facilities. 3. The project has a number of activities which are grouped into four components, namely: Component A: Undertake immediate repairs to the water and sewer reticulation system following a critical assessment of the current system Component B: Develop the Masterplan for the management of water, wastewater and solid waste over a 20 year horizon Component C: Capacity Development; involves building capacity amongst the various stakeholders Component D: Project Management, Coordination, and Performance Monitoring including establishing a Project Management Team and a Technical Advisory Committee 4. Procurement of Goods and Services necessary for the execution of the Project shall be undertaken by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate of the Republic of Zimbabwe in accordance with the Bank`s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works, July 2012 revision or as appropriate, Rules and Procedures for the Use of Consultants, July 2012 revision using the relevant Standard Bidding Documents. 5. The procurement arrangements are summarized as follows: ï‚· Consultancy Services shall be procured through Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) ï‚· Goods contracts, which will cover the procurement of office equipment and accessories, will be undertaken through Shopping. 2 ï‚· Works shall be undertaken through National Competitive Bidding (NCB) 6. The proposed intervention will likely require the procurement of the following services: Services: - Undertaking a critical assessment of the status of water supply and sanitation infrastructure - Consultancy for Development of an integrated Urban Water and Sanitation Masterplan for Marondera - Construction Supervision - Individual consultants to constitute the Project Management Team Works: - Undertake some immediate repairs to the Water and Sewer reticulation system - Rejuvenating the Waste Stabilization Ponds - Repairs to the Elevated Steel Tanks.
