- PRC/ZWE/RFP/0005/5/24/2019: Consultancy: GIS Consulting Institution to Train Rural District Councils to use GIS for Rural Planning BackgroundThe Zimbabwe Resilience Building Fund (ZRBF) is multi-donor fund aimed at implementing and fostering resilience among the rural communities of Zimbabwe. ZRBF is a partnership between the Government of Zimbabwe, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the European Union (EU), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and UK Department for International Development (DfID). The current duration of the Fund is 6 years (2015-2021). The overall objective of ZRBF is to contribute to increased capacities of communities to protect development gains and achieve improved well-being outcomes in the face of shocks and stresses enabling them to contribute to the economic growth of Zimbabwe. 1. Creatinga bodyof evidence for increased application of evidence in policy making and application for resilience, 2. Setting up a multi-donor trust for resilience building in Zimbabwe to allow for partners to come together around the Resilience Framework for principles to improve the absorptive, adaptive and transformative capacities of at-risk communities, and3. Set up a risk financing mechanism which will provide appropriate, predictable, coordinated and timely response to risk and shocks from a resilience perspective.The first component focuses on capacity building in the generation and utilization of evidence at national and sub-national levels in all resilience-related fields. It also encompasses the development of knowledge products on resilience-building in Zimbabwe. In view of the first component, evidence generation and dissemination activities are essential for all components of ZRBF focus, more importantly to promote evidence utilisation in policies that foster resilience in the country. A capacity assessment done by ZRBF in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement (MLAWCRR), highlighted capacity needs in evidence generation and utilisation.
