General Procurement Notice for Replacement of Water and Sewer Pipelines and Associated Works in Chitungwiza. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) No. AfDB496-07/14 of 24th July 2014 and on the African Development Bank-s Internet Website (www.afdb.org) on 30th July 2014. 2. The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe has received a grant from the Zimbabwe Multi-Donor Trust Fund (Zim-Fund) administered by the African Development Bank (the Bank) to finance the Urgent Water Supply and Sanitation Rehabilitation Project Phase II (UWSSRPII). It is intended that part of the proceeds will be applied to eligible payments under: Contract Ref. UWSSRPII/011, Replacement of Water and Sewer Pipelines and Associated Works in Chitungwiza. 3. The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has appointed Crown Agents Limited (Crown Agents) to act as its Procurement Agent. Crown Agents now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the execution of the works: Replacement of old corroded pipes (mainly 100 and 150mm in the St Mary-s and Zengeza area) in the water distribution system (6km total length); Improvement of the water network with extensions in Seke North and South area (10km total length); and Rehabilitation of sewer reticulation (5km) and concrete manholes (70) to reduce sewage spillage in the residential areas. 4. A site visit and pre-bid meeting will be held on 12th April 2016. Details are in the bidding documents. 5. A complete set of the bidding documents, in English, may be obtained free of charge by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the Project Manager, by email to zimfundpa@crownagents.co.uk. The bidding documents will only be available via the internet and must be downloaded by interested bidders. No fee is due. 6. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Goods or Procurement of Works and the Operations Manual of the Zim-Fund. Bidding shall be by National Competitive Bidding (NCB). Bidders from outside the Republic of Zimbabwe may submit bids if they wish provided they agree to the terms and conditions of the bidding documents. 7. Bids must be delivered to the address at 9 below by 1300 hours (British Summer Time ) on 4 May 2016, and must be accompanied by a security of United States Dollars fifty thousand (USD50,000).
