- Expression of Interest are invited for SAPP Electricity Merchant Market Assessment. Description: The objective of this initiative is to conduct a comprehensive electricity market assessment of the SAPP market, model an hourly market price forecast (15-20 yrs), understand potential supply imbalances, demand and price volatility-,, opportunities and risks (commercial, regulatory) from the perspective of a long-term investor, and develop risk management strategies with reliable insights and recommendations to enable informed investment decision on the pipeline of renewable energy (with merchant exposure) and transmission projects. The overall goal is to focus on promoting the integration of renewable energy sources in SAPP, promote the growth and adoption of renewable energy technologies, enhance energy security and resilience thus reducing dependency on fossil fuels, and attract investments and encourage private sector participation in renewable energy projects and transmission.
